WELCOME TO OUR REFUGE

We’re waiting to welcome you with open arms, to our charming little refuge located in the little village of Trient and directly on the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) long-distance footpath as well as on the famous Haute Route trek. Come and enjoy a unique ambiance and authentic atmosphere for a night in a comfortable, cozy dormitory. Our carefully tended and attractive garden, and of course our dining room inside a real Yurt, offer the perfect opportunity for some-earned relaxation.

We also have a small Mongolian Yurt which offers space for 2 – 4 people to spend the night.

All that plus a breathtaking view over the majestic glaciers is waiting for you! A choice of pastimes is available during the afternoon: a range of different games, maps and a relaxing reading corner. Your hosts, experienced outdoor guides, will be able to offer plenty of useful advice, not only about hiking but also any other activity.

RESTAURANT & BUVETTE

We prepare our food and drinks with a great passion! For the beverage you will have a choice of homemade drinks such as ice tea and lemonade, garnished with fresh mint from the garden, great “Swiss style” cocktails, or hot drinks style la Yourte e.g. Cheeky Marmot or Horny Donkey.

Our meals are freshly prepared and we are using as many local products as possible. All of our meat is Swiss and the salad and vegetable often come from the garden.

We offer a great choice for vegetarians & vegans and we are able to provide meals for special dietary requests.

Opening times kitchen (à la carte):
Due to our small capacity thekitchen à la carte closes at 5 PM every day. After 5PM we only offer a portion of French fries or a bowl of soup with bred and cheese (if available).
It is possible to reserve dinner and breakfast as well as a lunch pack.

Evening meal:
We offer an excellent set 4 course dinner and a breakfast buffet inside our beautiful yurt. Please note that spaces are limited and that we prepare our food fresh everyday. Therefore we recommend you highly to make a reservation!

Dinner is served at 7 PM
price: 25 CHF / person (appetizers, soup, salad, main dish and dessert included)
Breakfast is served between 7-8 AM
price: 11 CHF / person (bread, jam, cheese, butter, cereals, fruits, yoghurt, coffee, juice…

With our lunch pack we guarantee you a healthy, tasty and rich meal on your hike. . The lunch pack must be reserved by 6PM in the evening.

The price of the lunch packs is 11.00 CHF. This includes:

chocolate or biscuit
trail mix with nuts and dried fruits
big sandwich with fresh salad, vegetables, sauce, cheese / sausage / vegan steak
local fruits

ACCOMMODATION

We share, we laugh, we care and we are passionated about this little place full of surprises!

When you stay with us you can choose between a shared dorm room, a spacious campsite (community ground) or a private Mongolian yurt. Reserve your accommodation now! We are excited to see you in the summer!

THE DORMITORY

Once this place used to be an old barn to store hay. You might feel like a child again when you climb the ladders to your sleeping place.

Even if you share a room with a total of 19 people, you will feel comfortable and find enough space for your comfort. We have built small alcoves with curtains to give you some privacy. For sure we are not a luxury place but a real mountain hut! We believe this experience you should not miss on your trekking!

THE MONGOLIAN YURT

Our yurt really comes from a small village in Mongolia. But it also fits very well into the Trient mountain landscape and it looks especially sexy in front of the le Peuty. You can book it privately for 2-4 people only the shared bathroom is in our hut! The yurt is lovingly decorated and even if we don’t have yak milk you can sip a Swiss cocktail on your little terrace in a deck chair!

No luxury accommodation but a wonderful experience awaits you!

THE CAMPSITE

The campsite belongs to the community. You can’t reserve you have to just turn up before 7pm! There is usually enough space on the meadow. Please do not expect luxury, the commune puts small gas shower cabins and a small shop is open in the afternoon from 4PM-7PM. There is also a bathroom with two toilets and a covered area with a fireplace.
Unfortunately you can’t use toilets and showers in our hut, we simply don’t have enough space! You can book dinner, lunch and breakfast at the refuge or eat a delicious meal from our menu before 5PM.

THE GUARDIANS AND OUTDOOR GUIDES

For many years we spend most of our time together in the great outdoors, doing several outdoor activities such as climbing, mountaineering, canyoning, biking etc. In these activities you will get to extreme situation where a strong relationship and 100% trust in your partner is the most important. Sharing the same enthusiasm for the mountains, we decided to make work our passion by starting Happy Tracks a trekking, adventure company. In 2017 we settles down in the little, beautiful village Trient. In 2018 we started with the great challenge to renovate and to reopen the Refuge le Peuty.
We are both qualified mountain leaders and during our trekkings we stayed in many other refuges. As we got the change to manage our own refuge we wanted to really do our best to create an unique atmosphere to make our guests feel like home!

But there are more wicked people in our team which you have to meet!

MANU – THE BARMAN

Manu speaks not only Spanish, French and English fluent he is also a great barkeeper and host! Full of good stories and alway relaxed he will make you feel like home!

MAX – THE ALLROUNDER

Max is not only a qualified chef he is also a great multi-talent. He will indulge you with a delicious breakfast and make sure the place will be clean and look welcoming when you arrive.

LUCAS – THE CHEF

Luca will indulge you with great cuisine and local ingredients. His experience and routine allow him to create perfect meals even when there are many hungry guests to feed!

EVENTLOCATION

In the low season you can book the refuge and the yurt for your private event! We are very flexible and full of ideas the create a unique event for you! Just contact and share your ideas with us!

We are a team of passionated chefs and we are very excited to design a personal menu choice just for you! Depending on budget and season we will give you a choice of different appetizers, starters, main courses and desserts.

Our kitchen is simple but delicious, local and prepared with a lot of love!

Of course we are also happy to make beautiful birthday cakes!
